Healthy Mind Lives in a Healthy Body

Healthy mind lives in a healthy body. This is the slogan we use to hear when we were in school and growing up and it still as fresh as it was then. At that time we never use to pay attention on the hidden values of these most powerful words; Healthy mind and body. How a healthy mind can live in a healthy body? Why only healthy mind lives in a healthy body? I have not seen any human being staying unhealthy and very energetic, creative, positive and having really good attitude toward life. If you stay healthy, your attitude toward life is always being positive; you tend to be more responsive towards your society and community as a whole.

But the questions arise as how a person should stay healthy. Does healthy means going to some kind of Gym or going for a 3 mile walk daily or just keeping a minimum health chorus? Actually it is a mix of so many things and foremost, having discipline in the life. If a person is disciplined, eats regulated diet, does good amount of physical and mental exercise tend to remain healthy through out his living span. So the point is how to remain disciplined and how we can lead a healthy life.

Yoga is one of the best ways to remain disciplined. Yoga does not mean doing some physical asanas but it much more. Doing Yogasnas is one of the various steps of Yoga. It is the first step toward the healthy mind while keeping your body healthy. The yogaasans will keep your physical body in shape, lets minor diseases away from you, maintain flexibility and stamina to perform heavy tasks for a longer period of time i.e. building a patience factor in your life. In other way you should not feel the fatigue and nervousness to perform any task.

The second step is Pranayam; it helps in regulating your breath which is a key factor in a health life style. Pranayam can only be performed perfectly and effectively if your physical posture and flexibility is maintained and that can only be attained through yogaasanas. If you successfully control and regulate your breath, you can live longer and healthier. It is said that a man live his life through number of Swasas (Breath). If you do anything wrong in life or lie to some one, your heart beat will increase and you start breathing heavily. This is how a lie detector machine will work. And when you are relaxed and performing good deeds your breathing and heart beat will be under control which leads to a health and long life. Pranayam is the greatest source of mental exercise. It helps in keeping our mind and brain focused and active.

The third step is Chit (Meditation). This can only be performed when your physical and mental situations are healthy. In other words you can sit in a meditational posture and breathe normally without any pressure to your body. It is next to impossible to meditate when you are suffering like cold, cough, fever or when your body is in pain. This is the golden way to attain Nirvana when you connect to All Mighty God directly through Meditation. This is the ultimate goal every human being should have in life.

Once you achieve this goal your way of life will change. Your healthy mind will always think about how to help the society to grow in a positive direction. You will be more connected to the society to help the needy, deprived and have not’s.  Thus a healthy mind living in a healthy body will always be a great source of inspiration for others.
